Quality control is at the heart of the GMP Certified Product program. I have been in this industry now almost 40 years and I can tell you that some regulation was definitely needed. There were products being manufactured in unsafe and unsanitary situations. Fortunately, that is no longer the case as the testing procedures are extensive. When raw materials come in to a manufacturer each raw material must be tested for purity potency and lack of contamination. Once this is done, each raw material can be weighed measured and added to the blend. Once blended the blended formula must be tested again to ensure that it matches the label claim that’s going to go on the bottle.
Once encapsulated, the capsules are then rested for a period of time and tested again for consistency purity and stable nature. After bottling, retention samples must be kept for a period of 90 days. Three times during that 90 day period samples are taken and retested again for potency and stability. You can now perhaps, understand why dietary supplements that are made correctly according to these standards, a bit more costly. Each one of these tests must be completed by an independent outside source or third-party source and that can be costly.
Once again however, this ensures you, the consumer, of the absolute highest quality product available on the market. Are all dietary supplements GMP certified? The answer is no.
